Finished! Perfect Fit Newborn Socks and Harvest Sweaters

Whew! It’s been busy around here – I can’t believe it’s been an entire month since I last updated! I was finally coming out of the first trimester blahs when there was a sudden death of an extended family member. Fortunately, my husband was able to move things around, and we all made it back to the States in 12-ish hours of flying. And fortunately for me, two long days of flying in less than a week means lots of knitting time!! 🙂 I started on a beautiful shawl with some yarn that I have been hoarding for a while, but that will be a work in progress for some time. So instead I have three pairs of adorable tiny socks to show you.

The pattern is Perfect Fit Newborn Socks and I used a beautiful colorway from Madelinetosh called Sausage, Chard and Lemon Lasagna. It’s actually kind of funny – I started out to make one, maybe two pairs. By the time I finished the fourth sock, I could only find three. So of course I made another, then found the missing sock…. and then I had five. So my pregnant brain ended up with six socks in the end. They are not perfect, but with every sock I could see my technique improving bit by bit – and that’s encouraging!

I’ve also finished two Harvest sweaters for gifts and decided to give them to other people – leaving two, possibly three more baby gifts to knit! 🙂

Those are my finished projects for the past month. Everything else is a work in progress which I will share soon – it won’t be another month, I promise 🙂

Linking with Ginny and Nicole.

  1. Oh my goodness, the name of that madtosh colorway! I broke out in giggles over it!! Its so beautiful though, in spite of it’s funny name! 😀 Your baby will have some nice cozy toes with all three pairs! When are you due?! I am hoping to knit some more of those socks, too. I love them. Perhaps I will have to look into that colorway because now I feel a tiny bit obsessed with it!!
    Thanks for linking up!!

    • Isn’t it such a funny name? They must have a good time coming up with clever names! 🙂 Congratulations on your pregnancy – I’m so happy for you! I’m due in December, about halfway through now.

  2. Lovely socks! when my sister had her first baby a few months ago, I gave her 3 pairs of these socks, but I knit each pair in a different colour. I like your way much better…then if you can’t find one after the wash, you just match it up with another. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

  3. The socks look fabulous and really who doesn’t need more – especially hand knit ones! And the gray sweater is so sweet. I have been knitting baby gifts too this week using grey and yellow as well. They are such satisfying knits.
