Turning the Heel

Another sock project started, this time for my mother-in-law for Christmas. I wanted to finish my mother’s pair first, mainly because it was my first pair of adult socks, and because I was sure of her size. I keep second guessing myself – will they fit? Will she like them? But I know her shoe size and surely she will love the gesture, right?? …

One thing I do know is that she loves purple, so I can’t go wrong with this beautiful yarn – Tosh Sock in Heuchera, and the pattern is Handpaint Highlights Socks. I wanted to do a ribbed sock for a better fit, and the simple stitch accents in the pattern really do highlight the subtle color variations of the yarn. In the future, I’d love to use this pattern with a yarn that has even more color definition!
