Finished – Baby Sophisticate Sweater

This sweet little sweater is blocked and ready to be sent to my friend, who is expecting a baby boy soon. She has experienced more than her share of heartache, in the forms of infertility and pregnancy loss. It’s been a blessing for me to be able to share in her pregnancy joy this time!

The Baby Sophisticate pattern was a fun knit. I was getting a little smaller gauge with the Tosh Vintage yarn, so I knitted the stitch count of the larger size with the lengths of the smaller size. I made the sleeves are on the shorter side – babies have such short arms! A little pair of socks or loafers might also be in the works soon – I just realized that I have fingering weight yarn of this colorway…

Did anyone see this call for charity knitting? It is for cold weather accessories for Syrian refugees. I plan on starting on a few hats in the next day or two.

Linking with Nicole and Ginny.

  1. Good call shortening the sleeves. I knit this for my sister’s baby and she had to roll up the sleeves quite a bit. It looks amazing in grey! My favourite colour for baby clothes (although I did mine in cream)
