A Few Finished Hats

Last week I finished up two thick wool beanies to benefit Syrian refugees. I used my own pattern or formula, a simple ribbed opening with stockinette body and decreases every row at the top. The yarn was Madelinetosh ASAP in Shire and Cousteau and felt amazing light and lofty for a bulky weight yarn. The colors were beautiful and saturated, and I hope to use these colorways in different weights in the future. My girls thought the name “Cousteau” quite clever 🙂

I also completed a simple baby hat using leftover Madelinetosh yarn from all the baby socks a few months back. I’m not sure if it will fit a newborn – I never can remember how small (or big!) they are – but it will probably be used at some point. It’s a nice weight for warm weather or over air conditioned buildings, and reminded me that I wanted to cast on a fingering weight sweater for the baby…

Linking with Nicole and Ginny.

  1. Oh how funny, I saw your pictures and was thinking what a pretty colour yarn that was – I have a jumper knitted from Cousteau so no surprise I liked it!
