Hello friends! It’s been a while since I’ve written here. Our sweet baby girl loves to be held, so I find myself holding her and cuddling and turning a blind eye to other commitments… 🙂
My ENTIRE family was here visiting for a couple of weeks, and we were fortunate enough to spend a week of that time on the island of Kaua’i. My husband, the girls, and I went last year and it was a really wonderful time, so we were excited to go back and visit. I was particularly excited to find some beautiful hand dyed yarn there, in a little shop on the North Shore called Hanalei Strings. They carry beautiful handmade ‘ukuleles and other instruments, in addition to their yarn. My first purchase was a gorgeous skein of fingering weight yarn, and the next day I went back and purchased three skeins of DK weight in a grey – green colorway. I’m hoping to make a shawl or pair of socks from the fingering weight, and maybe a sweater in the DK weight. My kids are always asking for sweaters, and so I think it will be enough yardage for a toddler-sized sweater. (Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera, so all I have to share are pictures of yarn!)
Speaking of yarn… I have some exciting news! I took up my yarn dyeing again, and have listed some of my creations in my new Etsy shop called Pineapple Yarn! I love, LOVE color, and in years past, I’ve dyed yarn to specific colorways when I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. Well, I’ve really been wanting to take it up again, and so I took the plunge and opened up a shop to show them off! I’ve also added some project bags, because if you’re like me, you always need another project bag… So if you have a minute, I’d love to hear what you think about it – I love constructive criticism! 🙂
Well that’s about it for now. Baby girl is almost three months old, and I’m starting to feel back to my normal self. My main knitting project is the Say Anything cardigan. I’m using Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK, a single ply yarn, in Grasshopper, and I’ve started on the second sleeve. I can’t wait to wear it!
