How fast can I knit?

Actually this title should read “How quickly can I knit?” because of adverbs and all that ๐Ÿ™‚ My husband had asked me months ago if I could knit a baby sweater for one of his work colleagues. Um, yes, of course I can!! He had mentioned something about October, and I had kind of wrote it down, but didn’t think of it since then. Long story short, that sweater needs to be done this week, so I’m going to be setting aside a good deal of time for knitting. Of course, I’m looking forward to it. I’m going simple and classic – bare merino wool yarn in DK weight, using the pattern Grannie’s Favourite. I think it will be adorable!

When I was winding the yarn into a cake, my winder jumped a gear and tangled the yarn around it, breaking the yarn and creating a nasty mess. This isn’t the first time it’s happened and I think this was the last straw. Might be time to invest in a decent winder… I think I paid around $10 for this one ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. my winder was my mother’s and I inherited it. It could definitely do a better job at less squeaking and creaking but it does the job and I’m hesitant to upgrade… I just knit for a husband’s secretary who is expecting!! So much fun to knit little things ๐Ÿ™‚
